Do not be misled by my mediocre photography. I can assure you, this Halo Top milkshake recipe is a hit. It’s guiltless yet profoundly satisfying with decadent flavor and ample volume. Not only does this milkshake help pacify binge eating temptations for days, it’s also loaded with protein and other healthy ingredients that help fuel athletic recovery and lean muscle mass.

I’m not going to lie, the Toasted Coconut flavor of Halo Top ice cream is one of my favorite things in the world. With that said, you can adapt this milkshake recipe to virtually any flavor Halo Top. It’s the process and concept of this recipe that makes it so special.

Toasted Coconut Halo Top Milkshake Recipe Vegan

Beyond being vegan, a special quality about this Halo Top milkshake recipe is that it’s “malted.” Because traditional malted milkshakes are heavily dairy-based, recreating a vegan malted milkshake is an interesting and uncommon idea. This is where the special ingredient comes into play: maca root powder.

Not only does maca have a distinct, malty flavor, but it’s also an anabolic, so it actually helps build muscle mass. Maca also has a reputation for boosting energy and sex drive, but the internet is full of mixed reports, so don’t take that as scientific fact.

By combining the maca with a well-balanced protein powder and plant-milk, the Halo Top milkshake recipe is illuminated with a delicious malty flavor and rich texture. For the protein powder, selection is key. I highly suggest the following ideas in order of top recommendations first: Burt’s Bees Daily Protein, Orgain Organic Protein, PlantFusion Complete Protein, and Garden of Life RAW Protein. As for honorable mentions, Vega Clean Protein and MRM Veggie Elite would also be good options.

More About the Halo Top Milkshake Recipe

Like I mentioned above, feel free to adapt this milkshake recipe to your favorite Halo Top flavors. I have found the Sea Salt Caramel flavor to work nicely with the vanilla focus of this recipe. But I have also made an incredible version of this milkshake recipe with Halo Top Chocolate ice cream and Burt’s Bees Daily Protein Chocolate. That is a quite a combination that taste like brownie batter ice cream.
