Finding the right diet to get rid of extra pounds is always challenging. If you’re struggling to find the best diet to lose weight, I’ll share best diets for weight loss in this post.
Let’s admit it, there are tons of diets available to choose from. It is never easy to choose the diet that’s best for you. It really gets challenging for a layman to understand the nutrition level and other technicalities of all those diets. My friends at the Diet Expert have covered a lot of diets and they’re doing a great job.
It is, rather, confusing.
In reality, every diet has its own pros and cons.
So I thought, why not make your life easier by putting together a short list of the best diets for weight loss?
Here we go.
1. The Paleo Diet
Paleo diet is simplest of them all. It is an ancient diet that has several benefits. The rule is simple: Eat what your forefathers used to eat and say no to the modern foods.
Technically, it means you should eat natural foods such as fruits and vegetables (as these were the foods that our parents and grandparents used to eat) and you should avoid eating pizza, burger, and all types of junk food (the modern foods).
According to an NCBI study, people who use paleo diet lose weight quickly. It can help you cut as much as 800 calories a day.
2. Low-Carb Diet
A low-carb diet is a recent and popular diet of the current age. You just have to reduce the intake of carbs. You’re not supposed to eat more than 150 carbs a day.
Avoid carbs and stick to proteins and fats. Simple, isn’t it?
When your body is unable to use carbs, it uses fatty acids and ketones to create necessary energy for your body, this is what helps you lose weight.
Since you cut carbs on a low-carb diet and use more of fats and proteins, it can increase your LDL level.
A low carb diet isn’t for everyone. Use it with care.
3. The Vegan Diet
The Vegan diet is a strict diet where you only eat foods that are derived from plants. You are not allowed to eat animal-related foods. This means you cannot eat eggs, honey, milk, cheese, etc.
The focus of the vegan diet is on fibers that promote the sense of satiety which leads to weight loss, ultimately.
The vegan diet has been scientifically proved to reduce the risk of heart-related diseases because it is absolutely free from fats.
Prolong use of vegan diet can lead to serious issues so make sure you don’t stick with it for weeks and months.
4. Ultra Low-Fat Diet
Time to use your calculator. An ultra low-fat diet is all about cutting fats. You’re not allowed to consume more than 10{6f6325e81006090c67b24799731aac0121cbc6cbed9a6704f5a30a9474cd8037} fats in your daily intake of food. Your calorie intake should mainly consist of carbs (80{6f6325e81006090c67b24799731aac0121cbc6cbed9a6704f5a30a9474cd8037} or more). It is a high-carb and low-fat diet.
It is quite obvious that you’ll lose weight – and you’ll lose weight fast when on such a diet.
Those who have known heart problems should stick with this diet as it lowers your LDL cholesterol level.
5. The Dukan Diet
The Dukan diet consists of a high amount of proteins and a low number of carbs.
This diet plan works in four phases. Two phases of this diet plan cover weight loss and two phases cover weight maintenance.
In the first two phases, you need to eat a high amount of proteins and very low number of carbs. However, in the next phase, you need to increase the number of carbs by adding non-starchy vegetables. In the next phase, you need to include starchy vegetables into your diet.
Several studies have shown that the Dukan diet is very effective in weight loss. This is a very healthy diet plan and it causes you to lose one pound in a week.
6. HCG Diet
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) diet is somewhat an artificial diet that works like the ultra-low-fat diet. You can eat 500 calories a day with HCG supplements (tablets or injections). These supplements control appetite and help with weight loss.
7. The Atkin Diet
In Atkin diet, you have to restrict the consumption of carbohydrates and increase calorie intake through proteins and fats.
A study has shown that Atkin is an exceptionally great diet for weight loss. It doesn’t just help you lose weight but it also controls your blood sugar level. You can read more about healthy blood and how it helps with weight loss on Thrombocyte.
8. Intermittent Fasting
Intermittent fasting is not a calorie based diet plan, instead, it focuses on the eating pattern. The two most used intermittent fasting plans include 16:8 and eat-stop-eat.
16/8 means that you will eat for 8 hours and will fast for 16 hours every day. Eat-stop-eat means that you need to fast for 24 hours once or twice a week.
If nothing else works, intermittent fasting will work – trust me.
9. The Zone Diet
The zone diet distributes your daily calories into carbs, proteins, and fats. You need to take 40{6f6325e81006090c67b24799731aac0121cbc6cbed9a6704f5a30a9474cd8037} calories from carbs and 30{6f6325e81006090c67b24799731aac0121cbc6cbed9a6704f5a30a9474cd8037} from fats and proteins each.
The zone diet is beneficial for sugar patients because the restricted carbs helps maintain blood sugar. This diet also keeps heart-related diseases at bay.
All these diets are effective in weight loss. Choose the one that you think will work best for you.
